East Beach Park
East Beach Park is a long, wide beach and grassy stretch at the eastern end of Santa Barbara City’s waterfront parks. It offers picnic tables and a playground. East Beach is home to world-famous, public volleyball courts, where several volleyball tournaments are held annually. A bike path and sidewalk run along East Beach Park, extending to the Andrée Clark Bird Refuge.
Originally built in 1927, the newly renovated Cabrillo Pavilion Bathhouse, has modern locker rooms, multipurpose fitness areas, meeting rooms, and both indoor and outdoor showers. The Cabrillo Pavilion Bathhouse also features a casual, beach-front restaurant, The Beachcomber. Beach and sporting equipment are available for rent on the sand in front of the building.
Lifeguards are on duty on East Beach from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. during the summer months. Prior to the summer season, Lifeguards are on duty weekends only Memorial Day weekend through the start of the summer season.
Dogs and alcohol are prohibited on City beaches, including East Beach.
