West Beach

West Beach is just across the street from a string of Santa Barbara’s beachfront hotels, making it a popular destination for tourists. The wide strip of beach runs between Stearn’s Wharf and the Sea Landing/Harbor where a number of recreational activities are available; visitors can enjoy kayaking, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, and more. There are a number of boating activities that launch on or adjacent to West Beach including outrigger, sailing, canoeing, and dory rowing. There are also public volleyball courts.

A wide bike path and, separated, walking path run the length of West Beach making it a popular beachfront walk and bike route.

West Beach is commonly the site of special events including a Fourth of July celebration, volleyball tournaments, art walks, and more.

Dogs and alcohol are prohibited on City beaches, including West Beach.
