Sheffield Open Space

What used to be an open-air potable water reservoir, is now a walkers delight hosting several criss-crossed trails amongst native landscaping, boulders and views of the foothills. The 2003 Sheffield Reservoir Water Quality Project undergrounded the original reservoir and constructed a 20-acre passive open space above that returns the site to its oak woodland and native grasses landscape, incorporating bioswales and walking trails. The site is owned and managed by the City’s Public Works, Water Resources Division.
